About Jornada

Jornada is a diverse community of 95 spacious upscale homes nestled on the West hill of Auburn. Located in Auburn between Seattle and Tacoma in the shadow of Mt. Rainier, Jornada is the perfect place to live and spend a lifetime.

Jornada Is Strategically Located

Because Jornada is centrally located between Seattle and Tacoma there is easy access to the best of both cities, being close to Highway 167, I-5 and Highway 18. It is a quick 30 minute drive to all Seattle has to offer and a 20 minute drive to Tacoma. Amenities like Pike Place Market, Benaroya Hall, Seattle Art Museum and Tacoma Chihully Museum of Glass are all within easy reach. Even though it is a short drive to these two major metropolitan areas, there is a definite small town feel to the area.

Activities

If you like outdoor activities, Jornada is about one hour from Mt. Rainier, Crystal Mountain and Snoqualmie Ski Area. There are also several biking and walking trails, including the White and Green River trails and the Interurban Trail located nearby. Lake Tapps is just 20 minutes away where boating, water skiing and other water sports can be enjoyed. There are three golf courses in Auburn: the Auburn Golf Course, Washington National Golf Club, and Jade Green Golf Course & Driving Range. There are approximately 30 parks of all sizes in Auburn, for the whole family to enjoy, including the Jornada City Park that is conveniently located inside the community.

There are also several shopping centers close by, including the Outlet Collection in Auburn and the Commons at Federal Way. In any direction fine dining can be found, as well as casual dining and multiple fast food selections. Multiple theaters are in the area offering a wide array of viewing enjoyment.

Education

Local schools in the Auburn School District pride themselves in providing an excellent education that produces students who have a love of learning and a sense of responsibility. Auburn boasts over two dozen elementary, middle, and high schools, each one unique, but all offering a supportive learning environment designed to foster each student’s natural abilities, Jornada is only 1 minute away from Evergreen Heights Middle School. Green River Community College, the city’s “Harvard on the Hill,” provides the serious student a quiet, natural environment in which to study.

Urban Transportation

Take the Sounder Train to Seattle, the station is only 5 minutes way and provides free parking. Avoid the traffic and rest, read or log onto your laptop as you take the 20 minute ride from Auburn to Seattle to work, shop, or do business. Sound Transit recently added another train and has four morning and four evening trains traveling from Auburn into Seattle and back. Eventually, there will be nine trains in the morning and nine in the evening.
